We all have days in which we’re exhausted and just want to do the bare minimum.
During the morning, you might feel too sleepy to get into the shower.
You prefer to have your breakfast and finally, when you have a little bit more energy, you ignore shower time to pass to other activities that are more urgent.
And, during the night, after so much effort and work, you just flop on the bed and promise that you’ll take a shower in 10 minutes.
But those 10 minutes turn into 8 hours and suddenly a new day begins.

One of them is using a simple timer app on your phone.
Set your timer for 10 minutes and shower as fast as you can.
I’ve used this method and I shower in 7 minutes straight.
This has helped me stop procrastinating and save time, reminding myself that in less than 10 minutes I’ll be feeling fresh, clean, and ready to do other tasks.
Another thing that I like to do to shower faster is skip my hair and wash it at another moment of the day.
Turn It Into A Positive Experience
If you procrastinate taking a shower, it might be because it’s not a positive experience for you.
Try doing things to make shower time rewarding and pleasurable.
You can use scented soaps, light some candles, listen to your favorite music, and, all in all, create a cozy atmosphere to spend a delightful ‘Me Time’.
Who knows? Maybe making these small changes can turn shower time into your favorite moment of the day!
Maintain A Clean Bathroom
My bathroom has an awful ventilation system and mold tends to build up in the bathroom tiles.
If I don’t clean them, my bathroom soon becomes a mess and I don’t want to set foot in it.
What’s the lesson here? Clean your bathroom regularly.
You can make a homemade cleaning spray, which consists of equal parts of water and vinegar.
You can use this to clean your tiles, your toilet, and your sink.
When your bathroom is crystal clean and smells great, taking a shower is more enjoyable.
Make It Therapeutic
Apart from creating a cozy atmosphere, did you know that you can do chromotherapy in the shower?
Chromotherapy, or color therapy, consists in stimulating your senses and reducing stress by using color-changing shower heads.
You can adjust the color according to your needs.
For example, blue produces a feeling of peace, yellow stimulates your energy, and green calms your nerves.
It’s a nice upgrade for your bathroom and it can definitely help you stop procrastinating taking a shower.
Do Some Exercise
After doing my daily workout, I can’t bear the feeling of being sweaty and I rush to the bathroom to take a shower.

This can help you feel the urge to wash your body to feel fresh and comfortable again.

As we’ve seen above, one of the reasons to avoid showers is freezing temperatures.
What you can do to beat the cold in the bathroom is turn the shower on as hot as possible and close the door to turn your bathroom into a steam room.
Wait for five minutes, adjust the water temperature, and take the shower without suffering from the cold.
Another thing you can do to feel warmer in the bathroom is heat the clothes you’ll use after taking the shower.

You can heat your towels, your pajamas, your clothes, or even your robe.

Get An Accountability Buddy
If you really can’t find the motivation to take a shower, ask a good friend or a family member to remind you to do so.
Sometimes, we need external motivation to finally do the things we need to do.
An accountability buddy will check in with you on your progress and this will help you better stick to your commitments.
For some people, doing things to keep their word is more effective when it comes to achieving personal goals.
Seek Professional Help
